At the regular quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, a cash dividend of 15 cents per share was declared, payable Jan. 4, 1991, to shareholders of record at the close of business Dec. 14, 1990. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, George R. Wackenhut, stated that the increased revenues were due to the addition of the Rocky Flats security contract for the U.S. Department of Energy in August 1990, and the Corporation's growth in the corrections business. He attributed the earnings increase to the above items and also the trend in the contract security business toward the higher-margin service provided by its Custom Protection Division, overhead cost control efforts at the Corporate level, and reduced interest expenses. The Wackenhut Corporation is one of the world's largest security and investigative organizations and has diversified its service offerings to the operation and management of jails and prisons, facility management, and related services to commercial and government clients. Headquartered in Coral Gables, Fla., its operations now extend from over 125 U.S. locations to operations in over 40 countries and six continents. -0- 10/29/90 /CONTACT: Patrick F.
