From: Bill Skiles Submitted: 16 Jan 92 23:26:00 Every single message that I have received since my post a few days ago has been a message to welcome me aboard! Perhaps I was hasty in assuming that I would be attacked on this echo. I am never afraid to admit it when I am wrong. So with that in mind I want to share this "safe" story. I have a friend who is about 67 years old that is currently dying of cancer. He is not expected to live even a few months. I went to visit this guy and he was up and about that day, so during my visit I asked him, "have you ever seen any UFO's"? This was his reply. (sorry I may have the exact base wrong folks, but I remember the sighting!) He said, "In 1948 I was stationed at Ft. Worth, Texas and we were training fighter pilots after the war. One day while we were in our barracks the siren went off and we were scrambled. "We were not even given directions until we got into the air." He said, "we flew in formation and were told to head towards a possible UFO that had been sighted." He said, "When we reached the UFO there were two aircraft on my left and two aircraft on my right and all I saw was a bright light up ahead." "All at once there was a blinding flash of light and when I could see again, I looked out to my left and the two aircraft were GONE!" He said, "I mean they vanished!" He said, "There was no explosion, no flames, no crash, no smoke and not a trace of either aircraft and the bright light had disappeared." He said that they were told to return to base and that when they landed, "Before we could even get all our gear off we were ordered to report for de-briefing. He said, "We were met in the mess hall by the head of the whole Air force at that time." "We were made to sign a piece of paper stating that we would never divulge what we had seen. He said, "The guy told us all, THIS NEVER HAPPENED!" I said to him, what did you do? He said, "We got drunk, and never even talked about it between ourselves, to this day to my knowledge." I have given this much thought folks, and I can only say that my friend was not lying, or making this up. The man is dying, and I can tell you that I would trust him with my life. He said, "One day I had two buddies in the barracks with me and the next day they were GONE!" You can think what you like folks, I know the Government KNOWS! Bill Skiles
