Users of the Bulletin Board can obtain research reports, statistical tables, and other information of interest to educational researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. In addition, educators who access the bulletin board can share information with other educators, discuss education topics and issues through an electronic messaging system, and distribute their own research papers, announcements, and software for educators and the general public. The System is managed by the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI). The bulletin board's focus is education. It was developed to provide professional educators and educational organizations with the opportunity to exchange information, ideas and data. However, anyone with the appropriate equipment may access the bulletin board and download files, but they will not be able to enter messages, upload, or join the conferences since these functions are available to professional educators only. The term professional educator includes teachers, educational administrators, educational policymakers, educational researchers, and other closely related occupations.
