I suppose many of you saw Larry King Live on March 21.  Part of the
show was devoted to the UFO sightings in Michigan.  This exchange
between King and Walt Andrus of MUFON caught my attention:

King:  What do you make of it?

Andrus:  This is a visitation probably of some extraterrestrial
intelligence.

King:  But they keep doing this.  For hundreds of years they keep
visiting and they never come into Washington!

Andrus:  (chuckling) Of course, the story is why don't they land on
the White House lawn and say 'Take me to your leader'?

King:  Yeah, why don't they?

Andrus:  Well, the leader of the planet Earth isn't Bill Clinton.
They have made some contacts, but we're not privileged to talk about
that, with UN people, that would be considered the leader of the
planet Earth.

King:  Why aren't you privileged to talk about it?

Andrus:  The gentlemen has not come forward to publicly admit that he
observed a very unusual sighting ... (King interrupts).

Comment:  I presume he is referring to the alleged 1989 abduction in
New York City.  I was a little surprised to see that Andrus seems to
accept it fully, but I wonder what else he apparently knows about the
case that hasn't been made public!
