"NIGHTMARE" by Patrick Briggs 1982. One time three years ago when I was five years old, I had a very scary nightmare. I went right out of my bed and started to scream. I cried too. Then my dad came into the bedroom. He turned on the light and that crazy thing was gone. But then I laughed because I was lying on my bed backwards. Then my dad went back to bed. I started to dream but it popped away. Then I went back to sleep. I saw a shadow on the wall, I heard a snap like a bee bee gun, then I felt a pinch on my back that really scared me. But the next morning I had fun. The only thing is, I sleep with a light on in my bedroom. The End. I slept with the all the lights on in my room for years afterwards. I must have been 12 by the time I decided to sleep without the light. I just remembered something else come to think of it. There was one night when I wandered through the dark house into the kitchen to witness a strange red glow all over the middle of the kitchen floor. My mother would go on to find me asleep in the middle of the bathroom floors and all over the house. I guess I wandered around a lot and fell asleep wherever I was at the time. I still can't indentify what in the world was going on but I do know that in 1975 or there abouts was a period in time when UFO's were happening with the greatest intensity. But I don't see why a UFO would come around this house because I don't live out in the middle of nowhere. I'm in a medium sized town in the center of Washington State (Wenatchee). I live out of the way a bit but someone should have seen something.. right? Just for fun.. here are a few more stories out of the book with "Space" as the theme. I think you'll realize how much my peers and I really knew hehe. THE MAGIC CARPET by Bryan Worley This story is about a boy who lives in San Diego who finds a piece of paper that says, "Go to the stadium and you will find the carpet." Sandy, the boy, runs to where the paper said and he finds the carpet and he also finds a piece of paper and it said the magic carpet words are "dark clouds and a flashing of lights." So the boy said "Dark clouds and a flashing of lights. I want to be at my house" and zoom he was flying over to his house but he had one problem. He didn't know how to land and it said on the paper "land you nut" and so he said "land you nut" and down he went right into the driveway. Sandy picked up the carpet and ran. His dad got out and said "Sandy, what is that thing?" Sandy said "Dad... sit down on the carpet" and so his dad sat on the carpet. "Now where do you want to go?" "Do you think I'm going to believe in that junk." said Dad. "Oh yes I do dad, now where would you like to go. "Ok.. I would like to be standing on Mt. Rainer" "Dad you have to say 'Dark clouds and a flashing of lights'." "Well if it satisfies you.. 'Dark clouds and a flashing of lights'. Zoom were off and flying.."Dad look.. there Jim's house. There's mom coming home from work. There is your work.. Ok dad now were here." "What is the magic word to land Sandy?" "It is 'Land you nut'" Dad sais "Land you nut" and it lands on the snow top of Mt. Rainer. Sandy said, "Dad.. this is the place where a spaceship landed and left." Dad, lets go home and tell mom, sister and brother about the ride and how I got the carpet. "Mom! I found a carpet and took daddy for a ride to Mt. Rainer" "Mom do you want to?" "No thanks" Do you sis? "No" Do you brother "No" Dad do you want to? "No" I guess I'll take a ride to the moon "Dark clouds and a flashing of lights. Take me to the moon and fast." zoom I'm already at the moon its strange but its so pretty. I'll just jump off.. "Oh no! let me get my carpet oh no! I'm on this planet but the carpet isn't Oh well, this is the way all stories end. Here is a curious poem a classmate of mine also wrote. The Alien by Bryan Richards There was an alien, and he was green, I like his space ship, And it could shoot beams. Most interesting to find this and read through it again after several years.. quite enlightening. Who knows.. maybe the author of that poem was watching a UFO show on T.V. but then maybe not? Kids don't lie about what they see.. Our parents seem to make it so that we loose our asertiveness with all their "programming." It is interesting to find in some abduction cases where people were regressed and found that they got abducted at age 5 or there abouts and never really remembered except for all the recurring dreams they usually get. I've never gone through a regression session before but it might be revealing. Quite a bit of emotional backlog to go through in my case though. My childhood was not a good experience for me. I must be going throught some "tests" of life I guess. Patrick Briggs
