On September 20, 1995, John W. Ratliff posted to several alt. newsgroups the claim that the real identity of the mystery cameraman who shot the "alien autopsy" footage is now known.
According to Ratliff, "The cameraman's name is 'Jack Barrett.' Ray Santilli accidently used his real name in an early post he meant to send private [sic] but was actually public. Fortunately (?) he mistyped it as 'Barnett.' Appalled, upon seeing his mistake, he used that name as the 'pseudonym' for the entire time.
"Jack Barrett lives in Florida, is 82 years old, and that is all of the information I have," Ratliff said.
Ratliff also called for compassion toward Ray Santilli, who he characterizes as a man caught up in events beyond his control. "Ray regrets with complete and utter and total regret ever getting into this entire UFO mess," Ratliff said. "Ray's financial backer, a Volker Spielberg, is the only one making any money in this affair. Yes, Ray may have made a little money, but not much over expenses, if any!
"Volker Spielberg is in possesion of the missing first autopsy and good quality tent footage. He is keeping it for his own personal reasons and has no real interest in releasing it to the world. Ray has no control over this, and is devastated, again, that his entire initial promise to ship all of the footage with all of the videos has been compromised."
Furthermore, Ratliff said, "Santilli's wife just had a baby prematurely. He has been told that the baby probably will not survive. He is obviously in great emotional turmoil at this time.
"It is my opinion that there should be a complete and total moratorium on Ray Santilli bashing while he goes through this difficult time," Ratliff said.
Ratliff concluded his posting with a strongly worded appeal for release of film depicting an alleged "first autopsy" and "tent footage." The widely distributed autopsy footage recently seen on television is said to be the "second" autopsy. Rumors of three different autopsy sequences have circulated since last spring.
In a related story, a source close to CNI News says that at least one copy of the alleged "first autopsy" is in the possession of well-known crop circle researcher Colin Andrews. This source, who wishes to remain anonymous, told CNI News: "Colin Andrews has a copy of the mysterious first autopsy. He brought this back to the states, after being one of the few to see it, to show to his father in law, who is a surgeon at an east coast university hospital. Andrews does not want to give up the video, because technically he is not supposed to have a copy." This source also claimed that Ratliff's appeal was aimed specifically at Andrews, although Andrews was not mentioned by name.
CNI News was unable to reach Colin Andrews for comment. We will follow up this story as further details become available.
