[CNI News thanks our friends at Houston Sky newsletter for passing along this story, posted to the Fortean Times online reporting service by Andy Cobley, who found it in the "Dundee Courier" (UK) of October 9, 1995. Andy Cobley can be reached by email at: acobley@mic.dundee.ac.uk]

The skies above Falkirk [UK] were being scanned yesterday as excited townsfolk prepared themselves for the coming of mysterious beings. The threesome is set to reveal the reasons for a baffling number of UFO sightings in the Falkirk area in recent years. Their keenly awaited revelations will emerge when they stun a sellout audience at Falkirk Town Hall tonight.

One -- an American psychic called Phyllis Schlemmer -- has promised to reveal the secrets of the universe through her contatc with a shadowy group called the Council of Nine.

It is claimed the Council of Nine is a group of superbeings said to watch over mankind, making sure we do not destroy the planet.

[NOTE: Phyllis Schlemmer presents extensive revelations of the Council of Nine in the 1993 book, "The Only Planet of Choice," available through the ISCNI bookstore. - ed.]

Nearly 1000 people are set to cram into the hall, searching for explanations to strange sightings in their skies. The nearby village of Bonnybridge has been dubbed Britain's UFO capital after hundreds of sightings.

The Cosmic Agenda Lecture is the brainchild of Councilor Billy Buchanan.

He attracted worldwide publicity for the conference ensuring it would be a sellout when he was reported to have said an alien called Zal-us would be the star guest. But he later denied he had been in contact with an alien called Zal-us.

Edinburgh UFO researcher Geri Rogers will also be beaming in to speak to the crowd. ET hunter Ken MacFarlane from Cheshire is the third speaker.

Interest in the bizarre meeting has spread all over the world with UFO fans from as far afield as Canada due to fly in. Yesterday it seemed the entire town was in the grip of ET fever as the countdown began towards tonight's earth-shattering revelations.<p>

Earth shattering revelations?

One eager teenager who claims to have seen a UFO in the skies above her home town confessed she was hoping for answers. Luisa Carr (16) from Grangemouth said, "I saw strange lights hovering in the sky about three months ago. The whole thing was really strange."

A Group of schoolboys from St. Mungo's High in Falkirk were also anxiously anticipating tonight's meeting. Michael Hughes (17) said, "From what I've heard, Billy Buchanan will probably try and explain why there are so many UFO sightings here, but I don't know if it will make much sense."

UFO hunter Malcolm Robertson of Strange Phenomena investigations will also be attending but remains sceptical as to what will be revealed. "It'll be very interesting but I don't expect to hear anything I've not heard before. It's okay people making these claims but I need factual evidence."
