"HALF-ALIEN" DEMONSTRATED PARANORMAL ABILITIES

[Note: the following message from well-known researcher and author Jeffrey Mishlove was posted recently (late May 1995) on alt.paranet.ufo. Interested readers may respond to jeffrey.mishlove@intuition.org]

Between 1976 and 1986, I engaged in a study of a man named Ted Owens who claimed to be half human and half alien (by virtue of an operation that took place on his brain). My findings are summarized in my book, "The Roots of Consciousness" (revised edition) (Tulsa, OK: Council Oak, 1973).

Owens was a very unusual character who claimed to be able to demonstrate various phenomena by telepathing to his alien friends. His demonstrations included such things as hurricanes, tornados, heatwaves, unusual storms, power blackouts, plane crashes, poltergeist outbreaks, UFO sightings and abduction reports. In a rough sense, I found that about two-thirds of his "demonstrations" seemed to validate the claims that he made.

My files for this period generally include copies of letters from Owens to various individuals stating, or predicting, what would occur -- followed by newspaper clippings of the events as they happened.

One several occasions, the predictions were made directly to me in advance of the events. One of these predictions, for example, involved perhaps the most well-attested UFO sighting on record (although it was never widely publicized in the UFO research community). On this occasion, the UFO was seen by multiple witnesses simultaneously from air and the ground -- above a university campus. It was photographed and videotaped. The videotape was actually broadcast on the KQED TV evening news in San Francisco. A picture appeared on the front page of a local newspaper -- as predicted.

I am interested in knowing if (a) others are familiar with the case of Ted Owens, (b) others are familiar with cases of those claiming to be "half alien," and (c) others are familiar with similar large-scale demonstrations.
