ORTK SAYS MOD OFFICIAL WILL PUBLICLY ATTEST TO UFOS

In an Internet bulletin dated July 22, 1995, the UK chapter of Operation Right to Know announced that Ministry of Defense official Nick Pope (formerly Secretariat Air Staff 2a) has recently gone public with his intentions to publish his book titled "Open Skies, Closed Minds," and is publicly attesting the reality of UFOs. "This may be just Nick Pope's personal view, rather than an official MOD position," the bulletin said, "but his going public represents a major step forward in the struggle for official public acknowledgement that some UFOs represent intelligently controlled objects of non-human origin."

ORTK Britain is calling for "a major UFO public promotion in support of Nick Pope's public pronouncements" in the UK. Their plan of action:

(1) From now to October 10, 1995, people are asked to write to Members of Parliament, informing them of Nick Pope's public UFO position, and informing them of a forthcoming House of Commons UFO demonstration, in support of the end of military UFO secrecy.

(2) From now through October 10, all those involved in the UFO issue are urged to initiate media publicity campaigns in their respective regions in support of a major national media campaign on the October demonstration.

(3) All concerned with the UFO issue are asked to take part in the demonstration at the House of Commons in London on Tuesday, October 10, beginning at 11:30am.

"WE CAN MAKE WAVES," the bulletin urges. "We can create a large scale credible public movement against the ongoing official UFO denials. We can make an informed and responsible public impression -- remember we are still a small minority in a UK population of 60 million people. We should be doing for the UFO issue what Greenpeace are doing for environment issues."
