JOURNALIST'S EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT OF "ROSWELL FILM" AT LONDON MUSEUM

Editor's Note: This eyewitness account was sent to CNI News by French correspondent Nicolas Maillard, who attended the film showing as a representative of the Paris-based magazine Science Frontieres. Maillard's text [slightly edited] follows:

May 5th, 1995. 12:30 PM. London Museum. About a hundred people from Germany, France and England are waiting for the film projection at the cocktail party organized in the reception room of the theater. UFO investigators, journalists and writers came to this event to discover for the first time a part of the mysterious film. After waiting for a few minutes, people start to move slowly into the show room. "Do you have a camera in this bag ?" asks a kind of bouncer whose role it is to track down spies. No pictures will escape from this dark room, only memories.

Now, everybody is comfortably seated in the armchairs, waiting for an introduction from Ray Santilli. But nothing happens. An eight-page document is the only information about the film :

"Roswell. Following man's first use of atomic weaponry, UFO sightings around US military establishments became a common occurrence. This culminated in the Summer of 1947 with the crash of an object in the New Mexico desert a few miles from the 509th bomb group stationed at Roswell, the home of the atomic bomb. Enclosed you will find a document recovered from the US National Archive. It is alleged to be the briefing document prepared for President Elect., Dwight D. Eisenhower by President Truman. The true events surrounding Roswell may never be known. However, with the passage of time new evidence continues to surface. This introduction was followed by 7 pages of the false Majestic 12 document! [Maillard's characterization of the Majestic 12 briefing document as "false" is shared by most, though not all, UFO researchers. - Ed.]

Suddenly, the lights go down in the room and the projector begins to show a black and white picture on the screen : "... This film has been bought from a US-Army cameraman... etc." Then, the film starts. An Extraterrestrial is lying dead on a table. He's about 1m60 or 1m70 tall. His two hands have six long fingers. His chest is voluminous and his large head has two big-opened eyes. His nose and mouth are like human ones, just a little smaller. The two little ears are just behind the jaw's joining. No hair, no sex. His right leg is hurt. A large piece of the thigh has been torn off. The black and white camera is moving from one side to the other, showing the dead body [from] different angles.

Then two people enter into the view to begin the autopsy. On the back [wall], a clock displays the time (10:30). A telephone is hanging on the wall, near a window behind which a third person is watching the autopsy. The camera is always moving, and the picture is never steady...Sometimes, the image is blurred because the camera is too close to the target. The three people wear large overalls, covering their entire bodies. Their hands are covered with gloves and their faces are hidden behind a large hood, with only a little rectangular glass window in front of their eyes. Maybe a protection against some viral attack? Even the person behind the window wears the same equipment. Strange...

Now the two doctors are opening the chest and the stomach, cutting the skin from the shoulders like a "Y" form. The ET doesn't have any ribs, or they are very thin. Then, one of the doctors (a woman, because of her chest) takes out the different organs and puts them into a kind of dish. The camera is now behind a doctor who is sawing the skull so that we can't see anything. When the camera begins to "see", the doctor moves and hides the scene...Then the doctors take out the brain from the head.

At the end of the autopsy, the clock displays 11:30. One hour for a quick and coarse autopsy!

My conclusion : I was cameraman in a military hospital (Val de Grace, Paris) during my military service. The films I've done were about neurosurgery, so I saw many operations of brain tumors. Everything was filmed with a tripod to shoot correct images. Even during very delicate operations, the doctor was [mindful of] the presence of the camera. I think that an ET autopsy is important enough to shoot clean images. No professional cameraman, no photographer? What an historic autopsy! One hour for this autopsy [seems] strange. The film doesn't show any image of precise gestures from the doctors. They act as butchers, and the...filming is not normal or scientific.

I think that this film is a pure fiction.

But the problem is: Who is Ray Santilli? Did he produce the film? What does he want to do with it? Money? Why did he show it to UFO investigators before trying to sell it to the TV? He is going to lose all his credibility, so I don't understand his game.

During the discussions following the film projection, I asked Susan Mantle (Philip Mantle's wife), member of BUFORA (British UFO Research Association): "Is it true that Kodak dated the film by examining it?" She answered me that BUFORA wanted to organize the evaluation by Kodak specialists, but Santilli never gave original reels. So that was only a rumor, once more...
