Schiff's name has been associated with Roswell since January of 1994, when he called for a General Accounting Office investigation of a possible government cover-up concerning the alleged 1947 crash of a UFO near Roswell. As of July 20, 1995, the GAO investigation is ongoing, but their final report is expected sometime in August. Schiff has frequently been quoted in the press as saying that he does not expect the GAO to find evidence of a UFO at Roswell, but he does think the government has been hiding something unusual, and it's time to find out what it is.
Now, apparently, Schiff has been shown the alleged autopsy film, and reports indicate he found it intriguing. According to our sources, Schiff has said, "I'm keeping an open mind," when asked what he thought of the film.
Schiff was not the only member of Congress to view the film, sources say. At least one other high ranking official attended the showing, but CNI News has not learned that person's identity as yet.
Recent opinion on the film among UFO researchers has leaned strongly toward a verdict of hoax. The film does apparently show a real autopsy of a real body; however, a prominent British pathologist who viewed the film said he considered the body to be that of a human woman. CNI News recently spoke to an American physician who viewed photos taken from the film and said he believed the body's anomalous characteristics could be attributed to a rare but known genetic deformity.
