I worked for the United States Air Force in 1980. I was stationed at a SAC nuclear missile base and was involved in security/law enforcement. I was PRP certified for nuclear security and had a secret level clearance, with a "cleared for upgrade all the way to SCI". We never captured any UFOs but, contrary to what most people have been told, we were given a security protocol for dealing with UFOs. The USAF does not refer to them as "UFOs." They are termed "Unusual Helicopter Activity."
When you first get to a base, you are given an indoctrination course. With security, this involves the basic security mission for your base, the basic security protocols and rules of engagement. At strategic bases this is a rather extensive course. During this briefing, a lot of various scenarios are covered and the proper protocols for dealing with them are given. For instance, in a "Faded Giant" mission, when a nuclear missile has been disabled or made inoperative, you are instructed what measures to take to secure the weapon and prevent access by hostiles. You are permitted, since this is a "Priority A" resource, to use deadly force to prevent access or acquisition of the asset by hostiles.
In nuclear security, they take this one step further. There is "NO" hostage situation in a nuclear situation. You shoot to kill every unauthorised person near the weapon. There is no exception to this rule, not even the President (yes, that was asked). No exception whatsoever...except under one condition. That condition is when observing "Unusual Helicopter Activity."
This includes glowing hovering craft, unusual focused light beams, unusual movement, and/or the Unusual Helicopter lands. If this occurs, you are to disregard the security protocol that you have just been taught is never to be violated. You are to disable the "Unusual Helicopter", then capture and detain, (Not KILL but CAPTURE) the crew.
I know what you're thinking: how could you disable a UFO? Believe me, if it got in range, there were weapons available to security forces at these bases that would have taken it out.
For days after this, we all talked about what we would do. We all agreed that we would use deadly force, even against Non-Earth Intelligences. This was the job, and that was our mission, so don't belly-ache about it. You would have to be there and faced with the responsibilty, before you can comment on the morality of this.
The point is this. At this level of security, the nuclear level, the b.s. stops. The base I was at, Malmstrom, had been buzzed by UFOs and weapons had been "Faded". There is a security protocol now in effect to prevent this from reoccurring. Truth is a lot stranger than fiction.
To my knowledge, the US has never captured a UFO, and believe me, I've talked to people who would know. But, don't let anyone ever tell you they don't try. For those that want to verify all that I have said, this information was classified Secret. I know that it would not be hard to get a Senator or two to query the USAF about this. It does not get any more real than this.

CNI News comments: The book "Clear Intent" by Fawcett and Greenberg (recently republished as "The UFO Coverup") detailed the intrusion by UFOs over Malmstrom AFB, Montana, in 1975, in which at least one nuclear missile was disabled. Researcher Linda Howe has reported that her brother was present at Malmstrom at that time and confirmed many details of this highly alarming UFO incident.
