(Feb 1, 1997) -- CNI News has learned that Dr. Steven Greer, founding director of CSETI, the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence, will speak at two fundraising events in early February. Greer hopes to raise matching funds to go with a grant of $25,000 already offered by a benefactor, the purpose of which is to finance travel and other expenses for a number of UFO witnesses who will offer official testimony later this year in Washington D.C.
Interested persons are invited to help fund this effort in one of two ways: For a donation of $50, the donor will receive an audiotape recording of one of Greer's February speeches. Or, for a donation of $500, the donor or a designated stand-in may attend one of the two dinner events in person.
Greer's announcement reads as follows:
You can attend a dinner meeting and/or receive a tape recording of a speech given by DR. STEVEN GREER M.D., Founder of CSETI and Project Starlight, who will be speaking about the first major briefing of U.S. government leaders by former government, military and intelligence witnesses to UFO and extraterrestrial events this spring in Washington, D.C.
The two fund-raising events are:
Northern California: In Marin County, Sunday Evening, February 2nd
Southern California: In Malibu, Monday Evening, February 3rd.
At each dinner gathering, Dr. Greer will speak about the upcoming "by invitation only" congressional briefings to be held in Washington, D.C. this spring. These upcoming briefings mark the beginning of a series of events aimed toward facilitating a complete disclosure on the UFO/Extraterrestrial issue, and to end 50 years of official secrecy.
-- Anyone contributing a tax deductible donation of $50 or more will receive an audio tape of the dinner proceedings.
-- Anyone contributing a tax deductible donation of $500 or more will be invited to attend one of the dinner presentations in person. For each $500 contribution made, one person may attend the meeting of their choice.
Donations will be collected at the door. Credit cards will not be accepted. Checks and/or money orders should be made out to CSETI (Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence).
A generous benefactor has offered $25,000 in MATCHING FUNDS to underwrite the travel costs of the government witnesses who will be briefing our nation's leaders from all branches of the government.
In order to obtain the full $25,000, CSETI supporters need to donate the matching funds.
The locations of the dinner gatherings will be made known to participants just prior to the date of the scheduled event.
