AIRLINE PILOTS SEE STRANGE OBJECTS OVER NEW ENGLAND

As reported in the March 16 edition of CNI News, numerous UFO sightings have occurred in New Hampshire and Vermont since late January. According to information received on March 21, several airline pilots observed unusual aerial activity over northern New England on the night of Monday, March 17. The following is excerpted from a posting found on the newsgroup alt.paranet.ufo.

The writer (anton8@ix.netcom.com), who characterizes himself as "an open minded skeptic," says he was scanning aircraft frequencies on his Uniden Bearcat scanner (BC 860XLT, 100 channel-12 band) at about 7:20 pm on Monday, March 17. Normally, he says, talk on those frequencies is limited to routine altitude and heading information, but this time he heard more unusual remarks. At about 7:25 pm, he wrote, "I heard a pilot saying 'it went right in front of us and disappeared into the horizon.' Next thing you know, everybody is seeing something up there.

"'It had fire coming out of the back and left a smoke contrail,' one pilot said.

"Most dramatic that I heard was Burlington approach asking a pilot what he saw, and he responded, 'A bright light approached us, went vertical and disappeared.'

"With what I could tell," the writer said, "there had to be at least six jet pilots talking about this. They were asked by the towers if they wanted to make reports. They all said they did. One jet was 35 miles east of Burlington, Vermont, and another one was 150 miles northeast of Albany, NY.

"One pilot thought it was a rocket or a missile because he stated so. He also sounded perturbed that the thing was flying at this level."

CNI News has not received any indication that these airline pilot sightings were reported in the press.
