NEW JERSEY MAN SEES AND CHASES TRIANGLE UFO

"I am absolutely convinced that I witnessed a craft of alien origin. This has entirely altered my life."

[Perhaps the most unnerving thing about UFO experiences is that they often change a person's life, redefining reality, rearranging the things that are important. To the skeptic, this is infuriating. Why should a thing that isn't even supposed to exist have such a profound effect -- for better or worse -- upon the experiencer? Obviously, we cannot answer that question here. But we can illustrate the point, in the brief but eloquent account that follows.

by R. Austin Huber, Jr.

It was Thursday night, March 13, at about 6:45 pm that I left my house and headed toward Route 18 and onto Route 9 [east-central New Jersey, about 15 miles south of Staten Island] headed north to see my girlfriend. I was on the road for less than five minutes when I noticed a grouping of lights hovering over a neighborhood in my town. My eyes drifted right to it, like they were drawn by an onlooker's gaze. I pulled over randomly at the side of the road next to a wall of trees, over which the craft was just hovering.

The craft had three white lights on the outermost tips of a triangular shape, and a red light underneath. Sometimes the white lights would flash randomly and sometimes they would remain fixed. The red light would flash in "beat patterns," then it would also pause and change like the white lights.

I pulled over so haphazardly that I blocked part of my side of the road, and even left the driver's door open. I looked behind me and people were slowing down and looking out their windows. At least one other car stopped.

I looked back up and the craft was still hovering. There was no jet or helicopter turbine sound, no air displacement, only an audible high pitched sound not unlike the high pitch some people hear around TVs.

The craft had the span of one of those mid-sized passenger jets between each light on all three arms. It was about four to five stories off the ground.

All of this took place very fast. It was quiet and hovering alone for only about a minute.

Then from high in the sky, a single light source descended very rapidly. When it got low enough, the light pattern switched and demonstrated that it was another exactly like the one I was already observing. This second came to rest for only a moment on the far side of the first craft from me, then ascended back to its position in the sky, altering its light pattern back to a single point source, and doing a spectacular job of looking like a star.

Then the first craft began on a relatively slow northerly course. I ran back to my car and peeled after it. I actually tracked it, along Route 18 and close by to Route 9, doing about 75 mph -- way below the stall speed of a Cessna, let alone something that big.

I left so fast that all I really worried about in my exit was hitting people. I don't know who any of those people were who witnessed this with me. I don't even know if anyone else followed it with me. I never stopped to look, even in the rearview mirror.

Eventually, it altered its course in a western direction and accelerated away at a really good speed, maintaining its earth hugging altitude and disapperaing from view.

Since, I haven't been the same. I've always thought that I accepted the reality of life coming from other worlds... but nothing prepared me to go from believing it to feeling it in the everyday.

I am also a heavy asthmatic, and since [that day] have had significant daily bouts with my breathing condition, usually upon awakening at night from wild dreamstates. My girlfriend says that I talk during sleep sometimes now.

Personally, I am absolutely convinced that I witnessed a craft of alien origin. This has entirely altered my life, even though I thought that I had prepared myself for it. And it wouldn't matter in my mind if everyone in the world decided that I was crazy tomorrow... because I only ever wanted the truth for selfish soul-searching reasons, and my horizons have been irrepairably broadened.
