News came out recently on local TV about UFO sightings at the town of Ribeiro Branco in the State of Sao Paulo (southern Brazil). Our biggest and most popular TV station, Rede Globo, reported on it twice during August in one of our most popular shows, "Fantastico," that airs every Sunday night.
They reported that in the small country town of Ribeiro Branco, some 350 km away from Sao Paulo, since last May UFOs are being seen every night, shortly after sundown.
As the news has spread, by now this small town is overloaded by researchers and curious people -- even military men have shown up.
Every night when the sun goes down, dozens of cars go up a nearby hill that gives a good overview of the region's forests and hills. They put up their equipment for photographing and filming, and nobody goes away dissapointed.
They showed some of the filming on the TV show. You can see lights going this way and that way, up and down -- the usual UFO movements. You could even see one of the lights that was obviously landing somewhere on the hills in front. The reporter said that this kind of "UFO-show" can be seen there every night, and the people of the town are even getting used to it. There is not one inhabitant of Ribeiro Branco that has not seen them.
They interviewed a boy of about 15, who on his way home ran into a landed UFO. The boy drew a picture of a typical UFO for the reporter.
There was no mention of encounters with ETs and nobody mentioned any kind of traumatic experiences. The people of this town are very simple country folk and they have no idea what all this means.
