Small glowing orbs, usually orange in color, are being reported in many parts of the world. They are often seen over Australia. One was photographed over New York City on February 1, 1998 by Alex Cavallari (reported in CNI News, February 16, 1998). These orbs reportedly range in size from a few inches to over two feet in diameter and seem able to hover, make complex maneuvers, and travel at very high speed. They have so far defied explanation.
Now a young boy in near Sao Paulo, Brazil, has captured over four minutes of videotape clearly showing one of these glowing orbs. The video is sure to arouse widespread study and debate, but early indications are that it is very likely authentic.
Brazilian citizen Helga Reidler tells CNI News that she witnessed one of these glowing orbs herself recently, then learned of the videotape when it was broadcast on a national television program. She writes:
"On Friday, February 7 at approximately 9:30 p.m., I saw one of those small lights fly straight over my house at low altidude. They are not much bigger than a tennis ball. I have seen them before on several occasions."
Helga then reports that the widely watched TV program "Fantastico," airing on Sunday, February 15, showed "several short film shots of strange 'night lights' going over Sao Paulo in [recent] days, and one of them was very special."
The very special one was a videotape made by ten year old Alan Oliveira, who lives in the Sao Paulo suburb of Capao Redondo. Reidler tells CNI News that Alan Oliveira "was lucky to register 4 minutes on film of one of these small light balls -- 20 to 50 cm in diameter, they estimated -- going slowly over the area of the street in front of Alan's apartment building. More people were observing from the apartment house and from downstairs on the street. But only the boy filmed it."
Correspondent Fabio Avolio told CNI News that the video was shot on January 2 at about 9:30 in the evening.
Well known Brazilian UFO researcher Vitorio Pacaccini added further details. He says the video shows "this little ball of light coming down and flying for 4 and half minutes over the roofs, behind some lamp posts, in the middle of the electrical wiring. It was a close range flight and this 'light' didn't touch anything. It was literally zig-zagging down there very slowly. It seemed to be surveying the area. The boy was shooting from about 150 to 200 meters away.
"This footage was analyzed by Ricardo Varella, who is an engineer from INPE (Instituto de Pesquisas Espaciais)," Pacaccini adds. "He said the footage was totally authentic. Independently of Varella's opinion, it's quite easy to see that the footage is a true one."
Helga Reidler described the video as follows: "The light flies slowly from one side of the street to the other, kind of zig-zagging, starting at one end and going up the street, 'looking' into the yards of the houses, flying over and around houses at a level of the electric light cables... It travelled up the street, as if looking for something or someone... At a certain point it went behind a house and simply vanished."
The nation of Brazil has seen massive wave of UFO activity for the last several years, and there seems to be no end in sight. CNI News will report new developments as they occur.
