George Adamski, A Commentary By: The Adamski Foundation / Space Research Department Background to the following information: Recently we were informed by a CompuServe subscriber that a ASYSOP, in the NewAge Forum UFOlogy/Contacts Section made specific allegations, based on an apparent lack of information, concerning George Adamski who was outspoken about human life on the other planets. Therefore, in the spirit of objectivity, we are taking the time to provide some factual information for those people who are not familiar with some of the early developments in the UFO field or George Adamski. Sadly, in this field today, it appears that many individuals often make libelous allegations without feeling the need to substantiate their opinions. Many people feel that accusing others will somehow support their own opinions, where we feel the strength of the information supports itself. We provide the following so you may make your own intelligent decisions. Regarding the claim that George Adamski was a "hoaxter/cult leader", let us examine these facts: 1) Consider the huge amount of ridicule that is heaped onto a person, any person, who tries to speak on behalf of, and support, the betterment of mankind. Those who work to encourage the untapped potential of ourselves and who promote the exploration of space in order to not only understand our own world, but also the possibilities of our place in the universe, commonly face harsh criticism. Such concepts had better not become unreasonable, irrational or assailable if we believe in a future. 2) The Adamski photographs and motion pictures have been examined and cross examined over the past 40 years. L. G. Cramp, British Engineer, conducted what was state of the art orthographic projection analysis on the Adamski photos with other photos taken in England and found them to be authentic craft of the same dimension and proportions. Furthermore, movie director John Ford and model airplane manufacturer Pev Marley went on record stating that the objects in these photos were actual objects, not models, of the size reported by Adamski. Later the photos were tested using biometric radiation and in 1965 one of the most famous Adamski 16mm motion picture footage was analyzed by a photographic analyst from Eastman Kodak Co. and was found to genuine and authentic. Recently some have utilized pixel analysis of the Adamski photos and once again have come to the same conclusion... that they are authentic. I have to wonder, who else's photographs have been scrutinized as closely and would pass these tests today. It's important to also add that my parents, who had the privilege of working with Mr. Adamski during the two remaining years of his life, were invited by Col. Freeman at the Pentagon, and a board of 22 scientists at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, to present for examination, these very same photos and films. From the discussions that took place and the information we all shared, both groups were respectful, aware and were obviously knowledgeable of the true circumstances concerning extraterrestrial visitations. Due to the interaction mentioned above, scientists directed my father to several sources from which he obtained NASA lunar photographs. One of his books, "Alien Bases On The Moon" displays an assortment of photos which substantiates information Mr. Adamski experienced concerning lunar activities and conditions already in the 1950's. George Adamski was addressing the issue of life on other planets back in the 20's & 30's which included speaking on radio programs and teaching classes. Both Adamski and a number of other individuals observed and witnessed UFO activity in the Southern California area. I'll remind the legitimate researcher that recorded UFO sightings of bell shaped and cigar shaped space craft have been logged world wide as far back as the 1500's and earlier. Regarding George Adamski being referred to as "professor": This was an honorary salutation of respect given to him by his students and foreign visitors due to his extensive experience and knowledge encompassing a variety of fields. This is not an uncommon practice in many student / teacher relationships, however Mr. Adamski never laid claim to any education he never received. As to the charge that Adamski was a "hamburger cook" and therefore the implication that his observations were less valid, let's note the following: The property at the foot of Mt. Palomar was purchased and owned by Mrs. Alice K. Wells who, along with Mr. Adamski and others, donated the resources to establish and operate their observatory and research center. The property included a small restaurant where both visitors and friends took turns in sharing the chores of serving tourists and customers and managing the rest of the facilities. No one felt so important that they couldn't contribute. I'm proud to admit that I make a pretty good hamburger myself, how about you? Recent claims have implied that George Adamski was a "government agent" or a "tool for misinformation". George never went to the government for information, however on many occasions they did come to him. And due to his contacts/encounters he was well recognized and respected by governmental bodies and religious organizations around the world. He was not a person to waste his time in petty bickering or senseless argumentation, his greatest critics were not those who had a wealth of inside information, but rather those who sought to exploit the UFO phenomena for their own personal gain/agenda. George Adamski was in good company... "With the exception of a single instance... all encounters... were preceded by an incident on a California desert. On Nov. 20, 1952, a witness met a strange man face to face in broad daylight that was described as "completely human". In other words, the composite picture of normal-sized, UFO pilots seen on at least 83 occasions between 1952 and 1968 confirms the image of this class of being as described by the witness, George Adamski." "As the witness, George Adamski, thoroughly anticipated numerous unrelated events around the world, for two decades, he was either accurately describing a personal observation or he was one of the best prophets of modern times. Other portions of his writings certainly deserve to be scrutinized for information about UFOs." James McCampbell (recognized in American Men of Science, International Who's Who In Atoms and a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Nuclear Society) "Intelligent beings from other planets regularly visit our world in an effort to enter into contact with us. I have encountered various ships during my space voyages. NASA and the American government know this and possess a great deal of evidence. Nevertheless, they remain silent in order to not alarm the people." Astronaut Gordon Cooper, LA Herald Examiner 1976 Question: Could UFOs be coming from our own solar system? Answer: "They certainly could we have no data from any other body in our solar system that rules out the existence of advanced civilizations." Question: Isn't it true that life as we know it can not exist in any other body in our solar system? Answer: "This statement, though repeated many times is quite obviously untrue. One characteristic of advanced technological civilization is the ability to provide suitable conditions of life almost anywhere including under the ocean, in the void of space, on the surface of the... Moon and Mars, more and more we are also finding that life exists under all circumstances." Dr. Stanton Friedman, Westinghouse Astronuclear Laboratory (Congressional Testimony 90th Congress) "It implies the existence of intelligent life on a majority of planets in our solar system or a surprisingly strong interest in earth by members of other solar systems." USAF Academy Notebook "Flying saucers come from distant worlds." Dr. Herman Oberth (Father of modern rocketry) ETC. ETC. ETC. Closing comments: As a professional pilot who has been fortunate to experience my entire life immersed in this subject I am always happy to contribute accumulated information to those who openly seek a equitable forum of discussion. I've had the opportunity to experience firsthand many of the same type of crafts reported by George Adamski and innumerable others. I've interviewed and flown with flight crews, both military and civilian, who can attest to seeing the same assortment of spacecraft world wide. Innumerable scientists, politicians, pilots, civil officers and everyday civilians have come forward with reports of extraterrestrial activity. Each year, while speaking and exhibiting our research worldwide, more and more people come forward seeking the balanced approach to this vital issue that George Adamski stood for. An increasing number of people have become disenchanted with the current UFO environment of fear, sensationalism and purposeful confusion, an environment mainly perpetuated during the last twenty years. I look forward to the day when we do a lot less arguing and concentrate on a United Space Program where all citizens can intelligently explore firsthand the possibilities and realities beyond our world.
