Ethics Questionnaire Re: Unsolved Mysteries Re: Bill Moore ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!Dale.Wedge Subject: Re: Which One Is Nuts? Date: 6 Oct 89 22:52:00 GMT Dear Mr. Holland: I was not thrown off ParaNNet, I was thrown off of CompuServe, which may be what you are referring to, I'm not certain. My remarks towards Don Ecker were intended for him and were not to be in a public message. That was a mistake. My statement was intended as a parody, since Don ribs me and in turn I rib him. I'm sure you can read messags in which he has done this to me. Don't be calling people nuts, unless your prepared to back it up. I'll put my professional background up against yours anyday. In addition to my pwork, I'm the co-Sysop of a multi-user system on the UFO Sig. I have never had the kinds of problems with idiots as I have with "certain" members of ParaNet. Grow up Mr. Holland and look at the crap that is being brought forward. Moore lies, the Gulf Breeze thing is probably a hoax, Psychiatrists investigating "alledged" abductions should be investigating what is going on in their own mind, if they believe in this crap. The state of Ufology is at an all time lull. A little parody by me is so silly when it comes to nuts that you can't see the real "lobotimized" people involved in Ufology. -- Dale Wedge - via FidoNet node 1:104/422 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Dale.Wedge@paranet.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!Don.Sudduth Subject: Re: Unsolved Mysteries Date: 7 Oct 89 14:34:00 GMT I think Unsolved Mysteries where you see it is about one year behind us. I'm not sure whether everyone's interested in the info he dishes out or if they want to see this guy go down (after learning of the thing is Vegas I can't say I wouldn't mind it). (Keeps the audience all excited, so they can tune in next week and see who is dragging around who by the hair.) *Throwing popcorn at my monitor right now* Seriously, Dale, I would like to ask you a question, since one of your last posts dealt with Dreamland, and you claim to be above "lobotomy" tactics. Why did you say that Dreamland = deathwish? Do you base this remark on some belief based without information to back it up? Or did you make the statement with absolute conviction of something you know? (Or in other words, what kind of "disinformation" game is being played? And why is there such an effort made to make some believe in this [as you so eloquently put it] cr*p?) If you cannot remember the post, I would be glad to repost it to refresh your memory. Date: 8 Oct 89 04:24:28 GMT Well, when that message did show up in public, it required some explanation, and I see you have provided that. In general, I do not pretent to know who is nuts, in Ufology. -- Joe Holland - via FidoNet node 1:104/422 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Joe.Holland@f1.n304.z1.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!Sally.Sheridan Subject: Ethics Questionnaire Date: 8 Oct 89 15:45:00 GMT Hi Jim, I thought very carefully about how to word the premise question. I deliberately made it ambiguous in order to highlight the importance of ethics in an ambiguous situation such as the one in which ufologists find ourselves. I wanted to make the point that we should be doubly careful about harming others in a situation of mystery, lies, and general lack of certainty. The purpose of the questionnaire is not to preach but to help us to think about these questions in the privacy of our own minds while we have the time to reflect on the consequences of our actions on others. You have thought about the right questions and that is enough.
