Re: skepticism and science Re: skepticism and science Videotapes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: isis!uunet!sparta!sun!root (Operator) Subject: Richard Murray & Congressional Amnesty Date: 10 Feb 90 07:32:09 GMT Hello All, I recently had a chance to talk to Richard Murray from San Diego. Hearing about him from the Billy Goodman Show I gave him a call a few days back (Feb. 6th) hoping he could expound on his work with a Congressional Amnesty type project. Regretfully, I did not tape the conversation but I gave what I think is a pretty faithful representation of his work in a recent edition of our locl MassMufon newsletter: --- Another effort in the direction of Congressional Amnesty. Richard Murray has been attracting some serious attention from U.S. senators and "other officials" such as two Superior Court Attorneys. Writing letters to Congress- ional/government authorities Mr. Murray has received some intriguing evidence to support the governmental drug smuggling/UFO connection. I have only spoken to Mr. Murray once but by what I've been able to summize, there is document- ation from files obtained through the FOIA which, when compiled, imply that funds for many of the top secret UFO projects have been garnered through drug smuggling initiated by none other than our famed President George Bush. It seems in 1948 when Mr. Bush was head of the CIA he ordered key segments of the oil industry (including oil tankers) to be used in the transportation of drugs to the United States. At the time they weren't aware of the multi-billion dollar "business" they were instigating. I believe this to be an accurate reproduction of Mr. Murray's proposed scenario. Mr. Murray also mentions that the recent book by Barbara Horriger(sp?), "October Surprise" which details the Iran Hostage situation, is a must read. He mentions that he has evidence pointing to the usage of an "anti-gravity disc" having been employed in the rescue attempt of the American hostages in Iran. He also mentions that he supports Bill Cooper's statements. Having had a chance to show Cooper's statements to certain key members of the NSA, etc. they, according to Murray, said that he (Cooper) was right on target. Mr. Murray states that he has approximately 500 independent letters in support of his claims. He has sunk alot of his own money into this effort and the project is hurting financially. Though he encourages donations I get a *strong* feeling he's not trying to make any money off this. He scoffed a bit at Bill Moore and Stanton Friedman when I mentioned my affiliation with Mufon. At any rate he is determined to take this to the government in a big way. He has put together a package of letters which can be copied and sent to State and Federal representatives. The replies to the letters, he states, will definitely help one come to an understanding of the situation. The understanding will be arrived at independently but will be in agreement with what he feels is a tragic worldwide situation. He asks that people send him copies of any responses/info. they receive so he can organize it and make it part of a presentation. This does not sound like another philosophical crackpot but rather an honest attempt to uncover the "clear intent" of the powers that be. Having only spoken to Richard Murray last night, February 6th, I'm not sure what to make of this but I'll keep the group informed of any findings. You can send for information: Richard Murray 3368 Governor Dr. Suite F336 San Diego, Cal. 92112 (619) 296-0955 If you enclose $2.50 (to cover printing and postage costs) Mr. Murray will send you the package discussed. He mentions he has about a thousand of them left. ---- If anyone has any information on Mr. Murray and his effort please speak up. Take care, Edward A. Sanborn Mass. One aspect I find interesting about this infinite interpenetration is it would seem to lend some credence to the beliefs of cultures and/or religions that say people, the Earth, plants, animals etc. are related or connected somehow. The Buddha's Nirvana (as I understand it) was an achievement of "oneness" with the universe, where everything came together. North and South American civilizations had animal totems which were tribe symbols and servants of the tribe. For instance a man could see through the eyes of his totem which may be an eagle or a bear. And of course there's the Star Wars movies where the Force penetrated everything. It would also serve as a good retort when an astrologer is asked how astrology works: "Quantum mechanics, of course!" QM is very interesting!! He claims he had been sitting around in the caboose [his office in his back yard] worrying that they didn't have any fun in Russia, and that there had never been a U.F.O. spotted there, so he sent detailed plans for a spaceship and aliens to a couple of Russians he had listed in his hoax-lovers Rolodex." Marcello Truzzi was on A Current Affair? He is one of the few skeptics I have a lot of respect for. He was one of those who broke off from CSICOP after the Gauquelin affair, and has been harshly critical of them ever since. He seems willing to maintain an attitude of cautious curiosity about these things. Wish I'd seen that d*mn show. That's completely illegal! All through the Fifties, you could still read Mein Kampf or "What is to be Done" (Lenin) at the library! (The FBI would probably persuade the librarian to rat on you, but you could obtain the books). Is this stuff about Reich's books true? Also, re: Reich, it's probably just as well that he passed away before his followers & disciples started showing the cancerous effects of radiation poisoning from the Uranium Reich was messing around with.
