IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE I CAN GET A COPY PLEASE CONTACT ME -+ ON THIS ECHO Phil, can't answer your specific request. However, I saw photos that were taken of the moon that showed some rather interesting things in the documentary called "The Force Beyond." If you can't find a copy in your local video store, let me know and I'll see if I can get you a copy. In fact, this little documentary has some interesting things in it that I've not found in others. I'm planning to contact the film maker to see if I can get more information from them. BTW, after reading some articles posted by you, sent to me by Mike Corbin, I'm interested in how things are going. Has Gail had any more incidents? What about Bill? Have you heard anymore about why CONTACT closed down? Gene gross@dg-rtp.dg.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!Ely.Silk Subject: UFO Monitoring Projects Date: 26 Feb 90 16:55:00 GMT At one time or another in the past there have been projects set up to electronically monitor and detect the presence of UFOs. To my understanding, these have been short lived. Is anyone aware of any ongoing project at present? If so, at what scale is this being done? -- Ely Silk - via FidoNet node 1:104/422 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Ely.Silk@paranet.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Gene Gross Subject: Cooper and Paranoia Date: 26 Feb 90 23:57:18 GMT Just got the recent ParaNet newsletter and read the article on Cooper and his paranoia. My knee-jerk reaction is, "Naw, no way, Jose!" But then I got to thinking about it some. There is a certain logic to it all--a crazy sort of logic. Does this mean it's wrong? Nope. Does this mean it's correct? Nope. Let me explain what is running through this feeble brain of mine. Just suppose for a moment that these aliens do exist. Further, suppose that we are dealing with several species of alien lifeforms. Are they all going to be "good guys in white hats"? Are all humans "good guys in white hats"? Why should we expect that advanced technological civilizations are going to be "good guys/ladies" (don't want to leave the women out of this)? Humanity has not outgrown its negative impulses with the advance of technology. There is no magic potion that when drunk will make our greed, rage, and other negative traits just disappear. We no longer kill each other with swords and lances. Nope not us; we are too civilized for that. Now we use mega-weapons--that is weapons that can kill or maim literally millions of people at one time (never mind that they aren't combatants--you civilians share the fate of the military should the big one start; wonderful ain't it). We've used technology to increase our ability to make war and to destroy the "enemy." Now, I won't argue that it isn't possible that at some distant time in the far-flung future, if we survive that long, humanity might not outgrow this. But I see nothing that says that the advance of technology and civilization necessarily means that we, or any lifeform, will automatically become the "good guys/ladies" overnight. That will require a major change in the paradigm. So to the extent that there might be both "good guys/ladies" and "bad guys/ladies," I tend to think that there are good aliens and bad aliens. Maybe the good aliens haven't yet appeared on the scene. I wonder about these "Nordics" mentioned in the post. But I have no information on them. A lot of the post sounded like warmed over conspiracy hash that I've heard before. One thing to consider with any LARGE conspiracy theory involving large numbers of people and international parties (especially governments) is that the larger the group that has access to the conspiracy the sooner the conspiracy is blown. But I admit that Cooper does make you want to go home and start preparing for the final battle of good versus evil. Cooper may not be correct (apologies to those who believe what he is saying; no offense meant). But he might have some point well worth considering. I know this much that if he is even partially correct, we face a major (cute I typed "mj" instead of "major") problem. Anyone know how to build phasers, disruptors, and photon torpedoes? ;-) Or will my .357 and 9mm do just fine? From the model they showed each would have a 35mm camera and some other stuff and some electronics, presumably some sort of UFO detector, probably magnetic sensor. I can't imagine anyone but the gvt could possibly afford such a system on a large enough scale to have any chance of success. In fact, the gvt did toy with the idea of setting up such a system back in the fifties but never did. -- Jim Delton - via FidoNet node 1:104/422 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Jim.Delton@p0.f37.n114.z1.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!f7.n1030.z9.FIDONET.ORG!Vladimir.Godic Subject: "OZTRAIN" update Date: 27 Feb 90 05:48:00 GMT Australian National (railways), who operate the route concerned, have failed to reply to a written request about this case.
