Hi Jim. There was an interesting post here a while back from a fellow who said that Mr. Ed's UFO looked JUST like the chap's ceiling light fixture reflected off of plate glass. I don't know if you caught the message and the guy who left the message hasn't called back, apparently. There was also an observation made by someone a while ago that Edmund Scientific sold hot-air balloons quite a bit like the GB UFO. I don't know if anyone has checked these things out -- I haven't -- but it might be useful if anyone has the chance. Best, <...staring intently at the Hong Kong sconces and vintage swag lamps at my local Channel Home Center...> Clark PS -- I can report conclusively from my ongoing UFO researches that the Gulf Breeze UFO in not, I repeat, *not* a Kohler faucet! -- Clark Matthews - via FidoNet node 1:104/422 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Clark.Matthews@paranet.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!Clark.Matthews Subject: Re: For Your Info Date: 20 Mar 90 02:25:00 GMT > Goldman was arraigned in Federal Court on Friday, March > 9th, on a Federal charge of "hacking" into Fox Networks > computerized data base. Heee-heeee-heee! What fun to watch a bunch of Trash T.V. toads at each other's throats! Keep us posted, Don, please. > Well, it will be interesting to say the least, on how Maury > approaches this, and IF anything on either Whitley or UFOs > comes out. Stay tuned, I'll let you know what I find Oh, I doubt Maury will say anything about it at all. I personally doubt that fool can even say anything coherent to his wife without a TelePrompter (and his wife is Connie Chung, making Maury The Original Trash T.V. Gigolo) No, I'm sure FOX will not allow Maury P to say or do anything that might jeopardize a successful prosecution of this Goldman individual. Call me sometime! I found Confrontations fascinating, too. The shot of the object with the utility pole is, to me, one of the most revealing. You're not the first to notice it (alas!); Phil Klass pointed it out to me over a year ago. (But nice detective work, anyway!). When I talked to Maccabee about it, his reaction was basically that Ed may have been panning with the object as it moved. When I challenged him on this, and said that he'd have to be AWFULLY skilled (or lucky) to get the object in such sharp focus, Maccabee said something very surprising (and revealing). He said that I should weigh the one POSSIBLY hoax photo against all the other photos which don't have any sign of hoaxing in them. Now, to my mind, this is a non-argument. Is he saying that we should judge Gulf Breeze on a mere preponderance of evidence? If someone takes 15 photos, and only 7 show signs of hoaxing, should we accept the other 8 as legit? I think not. All it takes is one screw-up. Or, as I like to say, "It jes' don' mean a thing if ya finds that ol' string." Date: 19 Mar 90 17:41:00 GMT DOn't know what Carl Allen current status is but would be suprised if he was still alive. I've heard of Al Bielich (sp) but haven't heard much more then the brief outline you gave. I don't believe any of what I've heard. If for no other reason then the suspicion that the navy would not have done the experiment with an entire manned ship unless they had already done it successfully on a much smaller scale. And then the next step would have been an Unmaned testing program. Had those been sucessful they might have proceeded with a manned test but even if they did and if failed, they would hardly have just given up and shut it down after haveing succeeded at all the earlier tests. It's a good story but to me it is not at all believable. Another aspect is -- even if they did do it at the philly yard, the story says the ship appeared somewhere else, RI or someplace, and then zipped back to philly. So we would have to beleive that this out of control experiment worked in both "forward" and "reverse" mode and managed to come back to exactly where it started EVEN though to do so would require exacting calculations of the earths movements thru space to adjust for the movement during the period of time the Navy Ship was in its "time warp". Also, the vast void in the sea created at the point of departure together with the vast intrusion into the sea at the point of arrival, would have generated at the very least, quite a series of waves and such. THere are just too many physical improbablities and constraints to accept such a scenerio. Another aspect of course would be -- if the experiment caused men to be trapped in the structure of the ship, the same "trapping" effect should have happened between the water and the hull with the result being the ship would have wound up as swiss cheese and would have sunk. You can't have it both ways. -- Jim Delton - via FidoNet node 1:104/422 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Jim.Delton@p0.f37.n114.z1.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!p0.f37.n114.z1.FIDONET.ORG!Jim.Delton Subject: Re: Gulf Breeze photos Date: 19 Mar 90 18:21:00 GMT Your comments about the photos are right on the mark. I find it very odd that the photos Ed is able to take with his cheap polariod can be so good, but the one he took with the sealed Nimslo were so poor and it is a much better camera. I also have a very hard time understanding how he gets such good polariod photos at night. I have tried taking photos with my polariod One-Step and once the sun starts to go down you can forget about it, it just comes out all dark. I even took a polo photo of the street light just across the street. All that came out was a little white dot and the automatic shutter on the camera was open for at least a second. I also have to wonder why some of the rather obvious things that point to hoax are simply ignored by MUFONs supposed experts. I'm afraid that in this age of computer analysis they have lost sight of the objective and some of the more mundane analysis techniques. o ______/ /() \ -MMMM- \______/ \\ \\ \\ -- Jim Delton - via FidoNet node 1:104/422 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Jim.Delton@p0.f37.n114.z1.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!p0.f37.n114.z1.FIDONET.ORG!Ray.Griffin Subject: Re: Gulf Breeze photos Date: 20 Mar 90 02:10:00 GMT Very good analysis(?), but Gulf Breeze objects are camera shy.
