Is there such a case? And if so, are those books available for sale? Can anyone confirm this? Yes. I called KVEG radio yesterday and was told that Billy Goodman had been taken off of the air. After inquiring why I was told that KVEG had decided that Billy's show didn't fit the format of their station. They said "we are a news and information radio station, and a variety show doesn't fit that format." Now, if you ask ME that's just an excuse of a station who's been told by the government to pull a show (especially when that show was delivering killer ratings, and was about to go satellite because people in Europe and Australlia who had gotten tapes of the show wanted to be able to get it live). Of course, I have no absolute proof of this, that's just my opinion. -- Daniel Wisnosky - via FidoNet node 1:209/722 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Daniel.Wisnosky@f725.n209.z1.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!f725.n209.z1.FIDONET.ORG!Jeff.Marsh Subject: Re: Conviction of Adm Poindexter Date: 17 Apr 90 21:02:36 GMT DM> So in other words... DM> DM> If the government DOES try to shut down Paranet then DM> what is being said on Paranet must be true. Wrong! Not at all... if the government leaves us alone (their thinking) then they won't be giving Paranet ANY credibility. That doesn't mean the government doesn't give us any credibility, just that they don't want to by trying to shut Paranet down! I think you misunderstood slightly that's it's not at all that subtle and a fairly simple concept. If I wan't to discredit you from a governmental point of view... I DON'T try to shut you down from a world point of view. But I DO, put people in that are synical of most of what is said.. and who make up wild unbelievable stories or points of view, etc... The son of the man who found wreakage from the saucer on his ranch origanally had a small collection of pieces, but after talking a little too much in a bar, he was paid a visit by the military, who confiscated everything he had. At the time, most of the people didn't think to stash away any pieces. -- Tim Hamewka - via FidoNet node 1:209/722 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Tim.Hamewka@f725.n209.z1.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!f725.n209.z1.FIDONET.ORG!Daniel.Wisnosky Subject: Re: (none) Date: 19 Apr 90 02:01:12 GMT AC> Yea, he has. He probably had an implant put in his brain by MIB, right Well, Mr. Chevalier, I never said anything about MIBs. I just happen to know a little about broadcasting, and a station does not pull a show that has been running for a long time if it is getting ratings like Billy Goodman was (remember, the higher the ratings, the more sponsers will be willing to pay for commercials, and so a high-rating show is going to pull in more money) for the reason that the show doesn't fit the stations format (unless there's been a format change, which there hasn't been at KVEG). That just wouldn't make sense, nor would it be financially sound. -- Daniel Wisnosky - via FidoNet node 1:209/722 UUCP: !scicom!paranet!User_Name INTERNET: Daniel.Wisnosky@f725.n209.z1.FIDONET.ORG -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: paranet!mcorbin Subject: ParaNet Date: 24 Apr 90 21:01:00 GMT Well, I have moved again. This time to the Los Angeles area. I think that some explanation is in order as to what has been going on in my life that has caused so much problem for the network of late. In answer to the question that I saw so much asked -- Why did I move to Las Vegas? In February, I contacted KVEG radio about the possibility of getting a show for ParaNet over their station. They became very interested in doing something about this and told me that they would love to have me do this. I made the arrangements to move to Las Vegas only to find that the arrangements with the radio station had changed regarding salary and I had to terminate the negotiations. This had absolutely nothing to do with Billy Goodman's demise, although the station did have in mind for ParaNet to replace Goodman. I refused to do this. I was very disappointed in the way that KVEG radio handled their affairs with me as I invested everything that I had to get to Las Vegas. After the talks with KVEG broke, I decided to look for a permanent job in Nevada. Shortly after this, my grandfather, whom had been helping me out financially, got sick and passed away. This nixed any further opportunity of looking for work in Nevada, which brings me to Los Angeles. For the time being, my sister has extended hospitality to me while I get permanent arrangements made here. Things are very good here and I forsee that I will be able to get on my feet very soon. In the meantime, Paul Faeder, on his own volition, re-structured the hubbing of mail. To him, I wish to extend a very sincere heart-felt thanks for jumping in there and helping me out. I apologize for having to make my personal problems part of the network's business, but in something like this, it could not be helped. Be seeing you in the echoes.
