Anyway, Caltrans traffic operations monitors all freeway and state highway conditions throughout the state. They use the following frequencies: 47.02 MHz (White) Districts 04 North, 07 South & Headquarters 47.04 MHz (Black) Districts 03 & 04 Local, 09, 11 & HQ 47.06 MHz (Brown) Districts 04 South & HQ 47.08 MHz (Orange) Local System State-wide and HQ 47.10 MHz (Yellow) Districts 02, 10, 11 & HQ 47.12 MHz (Blue) District 07 North & HQ 47.16 MHz (Grey) Districts 03, 08 & HQ 47.18 MHz (Purple) District 05 & HQ 47.20 MHz (Red) Districts 01, 06 & HQ 47.24 MHz (Green) District 07 I'm not real sure about the Northern Districts (1-5), but the Southern Ones are as follows: HQ = Headquarters in Sacramento 06 = Bakersfield/Fresno (Kern) 07 = LA/Ventura/Orange (see below) 08 = San Bernardino/Eastern Area 09 = Riverside?? 10 = Southeastern Area? 11 = San Diego 12 = Orange County The list I have was published before District 12 existed. 12 used to be part of 7, so I would assume that Orange probably uses White (LA South). According to Traffic Ops, most of the traffic stuff will be on Green. Other frequencies are Construction and Accident clean-up crews. I also believe that most of these are on State-wide repeaters. In my experience driving state cars, I have been in Ventura and clearly heard construction crews on I-105. Anyway, do a little listening and let me know if I can find out anything else for ya.
