It was painted completely flat black, completely blacked out non- reflective windows, absolutely unmarked, and rather silent. It was early afternoon, about 2:00pm, and it was a rainy/misty overcast foggy/hazy kind of day. This was in the business park where I work, of all places, and the helicopter was moving real slow, only about 10mph at most, and real low, only about 3 stories off the ground, moving over the parking lot where I was in my car watching it as I was driving out of the parking lot. I was about 50 yards away from it, maybe closer. I saw part of the front, all of the left side very clearly, and part of the bottom. I saw it for about 5 seconds but I couldn't stop just then since I was going around a corner and there was a car behind me. It wasn't silent but it was definately quiet and (something I thought was odd, there was no "prop wash" (if that's the right term) - there was absolutely no air displacement. About 15 seconds later I turned/looked around and it was out of sight. I'm not a military gear buff but fortunately my kid saved hundreds of magazine clippings of the Gulf War so I can describe it as kind of like an AH-64 without the wing pods and armament, kind of like the a AH-1W, and kind of like the helicopter from the movie Blue Thunder. (They are a _lot_ bigger up close than I had previously thought.) Making a wild guess from the short flight direction I noticed I would guess it was coming from Aberdeen Proving Grounds or Edgewood Arsenal and was heading for a local civilian defense contractor called AAI (they built the RPV's used successfully in the Gulf War) which is only about 3 miles from where I saw it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- BF> Was it there because I was there. First, the category for your sighting and mine - a near normal helicopter doing normal things that just happens to be black. Second, black helicopters terrorizing people, usually people who have recently been associated with a UFO sighting. Third, helicopters in general, and usually _not_ black, doing things that helicopters _can't_ do. (Have you read Report on Communion by Ed Conroy? He has some interesting things to say about this particular category.) Fourth, and this is essentially an extension of #3, helicopters that don't quite look like helicopters... (UFOs entering the sides of mountains has also been reported in South America.) Thanks, take care. John.
